Intuitive Recovery and HMP Liverpool
Intuitive Recovery is up and running in HMP Liverpool. Our truly unique intervention is winning applause as more inmates successfully complete and start installing a meaningful plan to NEVER USE AGAIN.
We'll keep this forum posted with client feedback throughout the year.

Here are comments from some prisoners who have attended the Intuitive Recovery course.
TL - 10 years Heroin and Crack use.
"This is the only course I've done that has made me aware of where my problem with addiction is. I'm now using my head not to use, I've successfully tried this! I do feel doubt for the future, but this is my addictive desire's doubt and I've recognised it. I will never use again".
EM - 20 years Alcohol and Opiate use.
"I should have tried this course years ago, I've wasted so much of my life. I now know I can change, I'm never using again".
SK - 15 years Alcohol use.
"The push-me pull-you explanation really hit home, my alcohol addiction was exactly like that every waking hour. Saying the words I will never use again out loud was great. I'm done with alcohol".
KP - Alcohol and Cocaine use.
"I feel very confident and powerful never to use again".

would like to say welldone to all .
when your perceptions change this is the miracle of recovery .
think now... who or what would you be doing ?
if you did not have your insight now ?...
enjoy your life from now on you have a choice .
Hi
have you got more info on this programme? is it a pilot at Liverpool?
Dear Pamela
Thanks for your interest. The courses running in HMP Liverpool have been commissioned by the Wirral and Liverpool DAATs as a way of ensuring people leave the prison with a firm plan regarding staying off drugs. We then follow them up outside and encourage them to engage with the treatment teams in their locality.
I have lots of information and performance reports so I think its best that you give me a ring for further information. 0161 223 1094

hi peter ,
would like to give you some feedback my friend has been on your course he has some mental health problems with voices ..
he is now off methadone still on his mental health medication and told me in his words
"I now understand what is happening with me my life has a meaning again me and my voices have intutive recovery " and this is a year after !
he would not say that lightly , welldone to both of you .
Thank you so much for that feedback - it's always great to hear that people are making great progress. We do quite a bit with people who suffer mental health issues and it has always been a most rewarding part of our work. There truly are no barriers to giving up, especially if you have simple tools to follow.

I have same thoughts as above.
Thanks for taking up the nice initiative. Think that the "NEVER USE AGAIN" plan will serve the purpose by its best. Waiting for more news on Drug Treatment and update from you. Best of luck.
In May 2003 an inspection report from Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons severely criticised Liverpool Prison for its overcrowding and poor industrial relations which had led to an unacceptable regime. The inspection ccp exam found that parts of the jail were generally unclean, had cockroach infestations and broken windows. Inmates were able to shower and change their clothes just once a week at the prison.
A further inspection report in February 2010, stated that drugs, bullying and violence were still prevalent at Liverpool Prison, despite the jail improving cdl exam in other areas. Days later, it emerged that the Prison Service had refunded nearly £10,000 to inmates at HMP Liverpool, who were being overcharged for watching television in their cells. The prison was charging £1 per prisoner per week instead of per cell, meaning that inmates cen exam who were sharing a cell were paying more than they needed to
